Concerns as planning applications skyrocket
A public meeting on proposed developments, totalling short of 600 new units in the village, has received public media coverage as the event saw attendance from about 120 community members.
The event was organised by the community initiative @SaveEnniskerry. The invite explains:
Over the Christmas period several new planning notices for major developments had popped up all over the village, amounting to a total of almost 350 proposed units. Adding the units under development the total figure is said to amount to 588 units within a kilometre radius of the Clock Tower and would double the size of what is currently in existence.
The community initiative identifies eight major risks from the impact of what it calls overdevelopment with Infrastructure and Traffic making the top of the list. It turns out that quite a few residents in the village suffer from the impact already similar to ourselves.
